OFSTED INSPECTION – OCTOBER 2014
We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the recent OFSTED Inspection at Caterham (on 8th/9th October 2014).
Congratulations to all the staff and students!
We achieved “Good” in all the main categories:-
Leadership and Management
Ofsted acknowledged the good leadership, teaching and the strong capacity to improve, so we now set our sights on becoming an Outstanding school in the future.
Here are some of the quotes:-
“School leaders and governors have aspirations of excellence”
“The school puts the students at the heart of its inclusive ethos”
“The students “feel very safe in school”
“School leaders know their school well and have taken decisive action to improve the school and raise achievement”
“The behaviour of the students is good. Relationships between students and staff are strong”
“Students say that bullying is very rare but when it happens it is dealt with effectively by staff”
“Achievement is rising consistently”
“Teaching is good …. Teachers’ questioning is good….. Marking and feedback to students are consistently strong”.
The Ofsted team acknowledged that the school is already aware of what it needs to do to maintain this momentum in order to achieve “outstanding”. This will be our next goal.
