At Key Stage 5 pupils have the option of taking the following subjects: for more information please see PowerPoint presentation PE Keystage 5.
 
There are two pathways available in the Sixth Form Physical Education; A Level Physical Education and Btec Extended Diploma in Sport. Each course has a unique programme of study and are equally recognised by Universities, College’s and in Industry.

BTEC:
Level 3 Advanced National Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) - (EdExcel)
 
Physical Education      A/AS Level OCR
Course requirements
At least a grade ‘B’ in GCSE PE. Individual cases will be considered from students who gain a distinction in the BTEC First Diploma in Sport. Active participation in two sports at school or club level.

Course outline
This course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. Candidates are assessed through a written theory exam and a practical exam in both Y12 and Y13. Across the two years, candidates study Anatomy and Physiology, Historical and Contemporary Issues, Sports Psychology and Skill Acquisition. 
How will I be assessed?
The exam, sat in June, includes short and long answer questions whilst the practical units are assessed by moderation and a written presentation.
What you will need:
Folder, textbook, USB, White PE Shirt, black shorts/bottoms, trainers.
