The Geography department forms part of the Humanities Curriculum Area – this comprises of History, Geography and Religious Education . The team of staff is led by the Curriculum Co-ordinator (Humanities).

The Geography department is successful and well established and there are three full-time members of staff who all teach throughout the age and ability range. Subjects within the Humanities area are taught separately, although there are close links between the departments. All students in Key Stage 3 study Geography and it is a popular option choice for GCSE.

The subject is a highly successful choice at A Level (Edexcel) and many students go on to study it or related subjects at degree level. Both A Level and GCSE students undertake residential fieldwork as integral parts of their course.

The department is housed in a purpose-built Humanities block, each teacher having their own dedicated geography room. Each room is well equipped with a data projector connected to video/DVD facility, visualiser and computer. One of the rooms has been furnished with an interactive whiteboard. The department has a set of laptops for students to use as part of their learning.
