Personal, Social and Health Education (inc Careers)

PSHE and Careers is delivered by a committed specialist team drawn from within the staff in the school. Students receive 1 hour/week of PSHE (out of a 25 hour week) at KS3 and 2 hours at KS4. It is taught in Form groups in Year 7 and 8 and in classes of about 23 in number in Years 9 – 11. (In the latter cases the groups are taught in half-year blocks).Years 12 and 13 have a separate course developed and administered by the Head of Sixth Form.

The materials delivered have incorporated work on citizenship across all year groups which meet statutory requirements. Students in Year 10 work towards GCSE short course R.E. and in Year 11 GCSE short course Citizenship.
