Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of the first half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. We’ve had a positive and productive start to the academic year, and your involvement has played a key role in helping our students settle back into school life and routines.
As we move forward, it is vital that we maintain these high standards to ensure every student remains Ready to Learn each day. This means:
- Bringing the correct equipment every day, as outlined in our Behaviour for Learning Policy. As a reminder, students must have:
A pencil case containing: 3 black pens, 3 highlighters, 2 HB pencils, A green pen, A pencil sharpener, A 30cm ruler, A protractor, A rubber, A compass, A glue stick, A scientific calculator, A reading book (available from the library), Their school planner
- Wearing the correct school uniform:
- Blazers must be worn at all times while on school premises.
- No false eyelashes or fake nails.
- No sports tops or hoodies.
- Trousers must be worn above the hips.
- Skirts must be long enough to touch the knees.
- Recording and completing homework consistently and on time:
- Parents/carers should check their child’s school planner each week and sign it in the Parent Signature section.
- This helps reinforce the importance of organisation and accountability, and supports the work we are doing in school during our weekly “Ready to Learn” Form Time sessions. Our “Ready to Learn” session continue to focus on key areas such as uniform, equipment, homework, attendance, punctuality, achievement and behaviour. Students who are not fully prepared may receive behaviour points in line with our policy.
If you require any support with equipment due to financial hardship, please contact Ms Lazic, our School Business Manager, at c.lazic@ecaterham.net or leave a message on 020 8551 4321.
We wish you a restful and enjoyable half term break.
Please remember that the first day back for students is Tuesday 4th November, and children must arrive by 8:25am ready to start the day.
Thank you again for your support in helping us maintain high expectations and ensuring your child is fully prepared for learning.
Yours sincerely,
Ms Chapple Headteacher
