The School Day
Our school day is split into five periods of one hour each. The school bell will only ring on the hourly lesson changes and 5 minutes before morning Tutor Time.

8.00am | Hearing Impaired students attend pre-teaching sessions. |
8.25am | Bell to let KS4 students know to make their way to Tutor Time and KS3 students to make their way to Learning Lines |
8.30am | AM Tutor Time |
9.00am | Lesson 1 |
10.00am | Lesson 2 |
11.00am | Break |
11.20am | Lesson 3 |
12.20pm-1.00 | Lunch - Years 7, 8 and 9 |
12.20pm-1.20 | Lesson 4A - Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 |
1.00pm-2.00 | Lesson 4B - Years 7, 8 and 9 |
1.20pm-2.00 | Lunch - Years 10, 11 12 and 13 |
2.00pm | Lesson 5 |
3.00pm | Hearing impaired students attend post-tutoring sessions in HIP |
3.00pm | End of core day, start of extra-curricular activities |
Students will be expected to stay until 3.20pm if they are asked to by staff, for example for a same day detention. For any detention lasting more than 20 minutes the school will contact home.
There are a range of initiatives for students that take place after school. Students should tell their parents and carers if they are staying after school.
Please look out for texts, letters, website notifications, messages in planners etc. If your child is part of a team or engages in school enrichment opportunities please ask them about any arrangements or forthcoming events.
