Welcome to the Caterham High School Fitness Centre Page

In 2003 Caterham High School was awarded Sports College Status. Since the award the school has managed to provide an impressive range of sports facilities. Caterham Fitness Centre was originally built for school use only but opened to the public in 2006. Since then we have helped hundreds of members improve their health, fitness and wellbeing.

As we are only a small club we can guarantee each member a high quality service with a very friendly atmosphere which creates the perfect environment for beginners or regular gym goers.

We have a wide variety of equipment to suit everybody’s needs and there is always a qualified and experienced instructor on hand to help you in any way they can to ensure you achieve your goals.

We have many different, fun and enjoyable Fitness Classes running each week and have Badminton/Tennis courts available for hire.

Our Membership Fees are very affordable and invested back into the fitness centre enabling us to improve our service and our facilities on a regular basis.

Gym

The Gym is open after school hours:

Monday – Friday 4:30pm – 9:00pm
Saturday  9:00am – 1:00pm


During school holidays the gym is open at the following times:

Monday - Friday 4.00pm-9:00pm
Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm


We have a fully equipped 32 station gym with a wide range of cardio and resistance machines:

  • Full range of Resistance machines designed to work every major muscle 
  • Light Free Weight Section 
  • Stretch area

Ouresistance equipment is all made by Hur, which are air pressured machines. They are designed to be very user friendly and are ideal for beginners.  

Everyone is welcome to come along for a free trial; you can use the gym, attend a class, go for a swim.

We offer all our members a free Fitness Assessments - a complete body m.o.t which includes:

  • Blood Pressure 
  • BMI 
  • Body Fat Percentage 
  • Body Muscle Percentage 
  • Lung Function 
  • Aerobic Capacity 
  • Muscular Strength 
  • Muscular Endurance 
  • Flexibility 

 The tests will measure all aspects of your fitness and health and are designed to do every 4 -6 weeks to monitor your improvements. 

You will also have a personalised fitness programme based around your individual goals.

Classes

Fitness classes are a great way to challenge and build on your fitness while having fun at the same time. Whether you’re looking to burn calories, tone, increase your strength or just want some general conditioning we have a class to suit you.

Spinning – An excellent fat burning class on a stationary bike with a mixture of high and low intensities.

Circuits – A mixture of cardio, resistance and body weight exercises performed in short intervals which work every muscle. Burns calories, develops and improves your strength, balance and agility.

Hiit 360 - A resistance based workout using a multi-functional fitness station. Excellent for improving strength, muscular endurance and agility.

Smash Hiit - The ultimate aerobic fitness class that combines cardio conditioning, strength training and core stability.

Kettlercise - A full body resistance workout using kettle bells, targeting every muscle in the body.

Ab-Blast - A short class focussing on strengthening and toning the core muscles of the body.

Raquet Sports

If you enjoy playing rackets sports then why not book a badminton court or tennis court with us. To make a booking call the Fitness Suite on 07902 319 179 (courts subject to availability).

Badminton

  • Non members £8.50 per court.
  • Fitness Centre members £6.50per court.

Tennis

Summer break only

  • Monday – Friday 2:00pm – 21:00pm (light permitting)
