  • Human growth and development through the life stages

Year 11:

  • Professional practise and the health and social care practitioner
  • Coursework completion and exam preparation

Assessment

CACHE Level 2 Technical Award

  • 3 controlled assessments; one for every unit
  • 1 short answer exam at the end of Year 11

Skills Needed

Desirable: an aptitude in English, Science , PSHE subjects

Level 3- Pearson exam board

Year 1:

  • Human Lifespan Development (1.5 hour exam)
  • Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (coursework)

Year 2:

  • Working in Health and Social Care (1.5 hour exam)
  • Physiological disorders and their care (coursework)

Assessment

Year 1- Level 3 BTEC Certificate:

  • Human Lifespan Development (1.5 hour exam)
  • Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (coursework- written, extended report and presentations)

Year 2- Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate:

  •  Working in Health and Social Care (1.5 hour exam)
  • Physiological disorders and their care (coursework- written extended case notes, reports and presentations)

Skills Needed

Desirable: an aptitude in Science (Grade 5 in GCSE) or English (4/5)

If Level 2 HSC completed- minimum Pass required
